Salad Fingers

‘David Firth has the ability to get into your mind and bring out nightmares that you didn't even know you had in there’ Paul Neafcy – short-film maker.
When we face out Salad Fingers we can experience many reactions; from a simple displease to the dizziest repulsion, pity or mercy, but the grotesque fascination it will put over us will be enough to keep us hooked up watching the show.
Since the beginning we will start looking for answers and the reason for this is because its story is somewhat complex; there will be moments when we will ask to ourselves if the reality in which the sinister character is living is in fact real or is it a schizophrenic delirium product of the Great War (Said by many scholars who dived through the abyssal deeps of the series to try to read into it).
Salad Fingers is a very curious and creepy character who lives in middle of what seems to be a bleak moor, in the context of the First World War. We will see Salad get in touch, sickly, with puppets and develop its fondness when he gets in contact with wrinkled objects while he revives, poorly, memories of past times.
But little by little, we will start to get into Firth’s murky mind, an English producer fond of making drafts in his abandoned house, the reason why many call him a mad-genius.

His videos had a great impact in the ‘under’ animation culture in 2004, and nowadays are treasured in the deepest corners of the Internet. Most of his job is abstract and a great number of it includes mental illness, surreal images and a world full of nightmares. All his work deploys a bizarre and violent sense of humor with a simple and dry aesthetic that reinforce this components (Making us remember the effect achieved in South Park). In his drawings, the influence of the young master and also, genre creator, Don Hertzfeldt (B. 1976) can be detected.
‘Firth is a creepy genius’ – State Cope & Dalton, known directors of Youtube.
Without any doubts, if Salad Fingers raves or not with its world is totally irrelevant; its ontological value embodies the psychological sickness from many views and angles.
Facing Salad Fingers is to face against the darkest and scariest path to the men of the soul and human condition ... Venture not suitable to every spectator.
It is suitable to anyone who gets near the corruption of the human soul, being this merciful, scientific or morbidly.
